Dr. Ginny Edgecomb scientist the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) has followed a unique career path—she is both a research scientist AND a seventh grade teacher in Massachusetts. Ginny put both skill sets to use when she visited TBI this March. She talked about her deep sea protozoan research with TBI students and faculty and conducted and a 2.5 hour workshop for area teachers focused on protozoa. Investigation and dissection of termite gut flora for application in the classroom was the highlight of this workshop.
